On the same day, from 4:15 to 5:15 pm, a symposium will be presented by Pr F. Duteille (room 343), on WEC therapy with VistaCare.

Finally, two posters will be displayed in the poster area on May 25, on the theme of the treatment of sickle cell wounds with VistaCare and the concept of Wound Environment Control with the WEC (Wound Environment Controlled) principle

A €4 million fundraising

The funds raised in this round of financing will allow the company to

Increase production in the Besançon industrial area, specialized in medical devices, and thus contribute to the creation of approximately 60 industrial jobs;
To develop VistaCare Medical’s presence in Europe with the creation of a subsidiary in Belgium, VistaCare Medical Benelux;
Accelerate the marketing to hospitals in France and in Europe;
To develop R&D and in particular to finalize the connected ambulatory version of VistaCare intended for the home in telemedicine;
To strengthen the teams with the recruitment of new employees.

Vistacare Medical will now be able to develop in two dynamic European regions: the Bourgogne-Franche-Comté region around the Pôle des Microtechniques dedicated to Medtech, and the Wallonia region in the field of e-health. The ambulatory version of Vistacare® connected will be developed in partnership with digital technology players in Wallonia around its office in Liège.

Several fundraisings were carried out with various financiers on an online platform, Wiseed, and a grant of €400,000 was awarded by the Region in June 2021. The clinical trials have all been conclusive; at the inauguration, Gilles Vienot, a patient who benefited from treatment with VistaCare, was able to testify to this: “I knew François. He proposed his invention to me and I voluntarily went to Marseille, to the department of Pr Dominique Casanova, where the device was being tested. I had nothing more to lose. My leg stayed in the chamber for 14 days. I was given a new skin graft. The healing was complete five months later. DTA Medical allowed me to regain the use of my leg and my job.”

Inaugurated in March 2021, the Besançon Bio Innovation Cluster is intended to be a physical interface for meetings between public and private players, whether they be doctors, researchers or engineers. The main idea is to bring together the scientific, academic and economic communities around innovation in health.

“Our development has benefited from the entire regional ecosystem. Thus, our production is 100% French. We at DTAMedical are proud to be part of these industrial startups that develop in the territories and assume their role as a local economic player, particularly by creating jobs,” said François Dufaÿ, president and founder of VistaCare Medical.

Together with its suppliers, VistaCare expects to create nearly 60 jobs in the Besançon area in the coming years.

“By halving the time required to treat the wound, we reduce pain and the workload of the staff, and we improve the comfort of everyone, not to mention the economic gain,” says François Dufaÿ. VistaCare proposes to treat acute and complex wounds (ulcers, diabetic feet, burns, etc.) in an enclosure designed to optimize healing parameters.

Raising 4 million euros

“The basic principle is to control and modulate the wound atmosphere [humidity and oxygen, temperature], according to a registered concept called “WEC” for “Wound Environment Controlled”, which allows us to develop a real technological platform”, explains Thierry Sarda. The CEO is aiming for 20 hospitals and 300 patient users by the end of 2021, then 150 hospital departments by the end of 2022, and eventually all of the one million patients with complex wounds in France, before expanding internationally.

How far we’ve come. At the helm of VistaCare Medical, François Dufaÿ has once again earned recognition for his Vista Care One technology. A device that accelerates the healing of wounds deemed difficult. The Loullois was an international award winner, finishing as a finalist in a competition organized by CIC East.

What an adventure!

In 2007, François Dufaÿ imagined the Vista Care One concept. A device allowing rapid healing on complex wounds, at the level of the lower limbs.

In the meantime, the Jurassian created his company, DTA Médical in 2010, obtained CE marking in January 2018 , and his product is now referenced in several university hospitals (Centres hospitaliers universitaires), such as in Nantes or in the Marseille region.
